Hi fans, players and our Season Ticket Holders – it’s time to make good on something we promised an unspeakably long time ago!

Back in the misty annals of A Couple Years Ago, we decided we were going to add updates to Tournament Arc in the Extra Time zines, offering new playbooks, methods of play and setting development that you could use in your games. We’d planned six of them, and we offered a way to effectively and neatly buy them all when they came out with the Tournament Arc Season Ticket. As things stood, we figured we’d be able to produce work to that timescale six months in the future.

Then life happened.

Then life REALLY happened.

The full details of what’s been going on are murky and uncomfortable (in brief, a combination of financial pressure, extremely demanding jobs we didn’t have when we started the whole thing, some escalating health issues and other exciting things) we could no longer work on anything Biscuit Fund Games related anywhere near as much as the halcyon days on universal credit where we had pretty much nothing to do but write.

We had to make some sacrifices in order to focus on keeping some new products ticking over – hence our occasional release since then and the weekly Game Soup podcast that Chloe does. In the initial crush of enervation that made us pull way back on BFG content, we delayed Extra Time in our heads for a couple weeks as we were having some problems with it anyway and it needed some rewriting. We didn’t anticipate the delay would be as long as it was, hoping we’d quickly adapt to our new lifestyles. But, uh, we didn’t.

Over a long while, we pushed back and pushed back ET until we’d ended up deprioritising it for years. But recently, as we approached some level of stability, we managed to get working on some back projects – one of which was Extra Time.

It’s been a long time coming, but we’re proud to present Tournament Arc Extra Time 5. By way of apology, in addition to being free forever to Season Ticket holders, it’s going to be free for everyone for a week to help you get back into the Battle Hill spirit.

We’re going to be getting the last Extra Time done within the next two to three months. By way of an apology, it’s going to be bigger than the rest – including a bunch of guest playbooks from fellow contributors, some “patch” updates to include them in our alternative play methods like It’s Time To Duel!, and more!
